Assistant Professor

Monika Bilska-Markowska, PhD is Assistant Professor in the Department of Synthesis and Structure of Organic Compounds, Faculty of Chemistry, at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. She graduated her studies in 2008 at the Faculty of Chemistry of Adam Mickiewicz University, where she also received her Ph.D. in 2012 under the supervision of Professor Henryk Koroniak. As a Ph.D. student she joined the group of Professor Günter Haufe at Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster. Her research interests are related to the organofluorine chemistry, especially fluorinated carbohydrates. It focuses not only on the synthesis of designated compounds, but also on the development of reaction mechanisms for introducing a fluorine atom into an organic molecule and on studying their electronic properties.
